For Gem Identification Students: on average 25 sessions. (approx 75 hours)

Student Workroom

GIA Student Workroom gives you affordable access to all the equipment and gemstones you need to complete the practical requirements of your Distance Education programmes or to do further Diamond Grading and Gem Identification work. A GIA instructor is also there to answer your questions and proctor your exams.

Student Workroom is open to students currently enrolled in the Gem Identification Distance Education course and students that need to complete the 20 stone exam or any other GIA distance education exams.

It is also available to students that have completed practical classes with GIA and wish to do further practical work. Student Workroom is supervised by a GIA instructor but it is not a teaching environment.

In London Student Workroom usually runs for three to four weeks in a row three times a year. Each Student Workroom session is 3 hours long and students can take upto two sessions per day: one in the morning between 10am and 1pm and one in the afternoon between 2pm and 5pm.
