Jewelry Design Class
"GIA not only prepared me for my career; they led me to it. With my instructor's guidance, support, and encouragement, I found the artist within myself. I couldn't be a successful designer without my gemology training. It was an invaluable experience for me. I feel very confident buying diamonds and gemstones. Also, my gemology background is what helps me sell my work. I recommend GIA to anyone who is seeking a career in the jewelry industry. I tell them to take as many classes as they can, because you never know where it will lead you. I love what I do, and I can't imagine ever doing anything else in my life."

Learn to design beautiful jewellery as well as purchase merchandise with a keener eye for customer appeal. The ability to offer clients a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery could be what sets your business apart and what keeps it competitive. In 9 weeks, learn the crucial fundamentals of quality jewellery design.
WHAT YOU LEARN
Starting with jewellery design theory, you study the fundamentals of quality jewellery design. Then, you discover how to take the theory you've learned and apply it to create your own quality jewellery designs. After that, practise drawing, illustrating, and presenting your design ideas – just as you would for jewellers or customers. Through one-on-one coaching from our world-renowned faculty, you learn how to design for beauty, problem-free manufacturing, long wear and comfort. You also acquire the skills needed to create and illustrate designs for a diverse range of jewellery – in full colour and fine detail. Practise drawing and painting techniques that help you promote your design ideas to jewellers and clients successfully. And discover how some of the world's most accomplished jewellery designers draw from a variety of inspirational sources to keep their design ideas flowing. At the end of the course, you participate in a jewellery design exhibition and will display your projects before invited guests.
